New Year’s Day: Friday 1 January

Easter Monday: Monday 5 April

Labour Day: Saturday 1 May

Europe Day: Sunday 9 May

Ascension: Thursday 13 May

Whit Monday: Monday 24 May

National Day: Wednesday 23 June

Assumption: Sunday 15 August

All Saints’ Day: Monday 1 November

Christmas: Saturday 25 December

Boxing Day: Sunday 26 December

 

 

 

Compensation for official public holidays is governed by articles L.232-3, L. 232-6 and L. 232-7 of the Labour Code, as well as by any more favourable conditions stipulated in the applicable collective labour agreement:

 

 

 

 

Bank holiday falling on a working day, worked on as a general rule

 

 

Bank holiday falling on a working day not worked on, or on a Sunday

Bank holiday, non-working day

 

Remuneration at the normal rate, as though the employee had worked

(+ ½ day of leave in lieu if the employee had to work for 4 hours or less)

 

 

Right to a day off in lieu, to be taken individually within 3 months of the bank holiday in question (compulsorily in kind, if the holiday falls on a Sunday).
