Coronavirus: information about remote working when quarantining or isolating

In a press released published on 9 October 2020, the Minister of Labour, Employment and the Social and Solidarity Economy, the Minister of Social Security and the Minister of Health explain that any employee affected by an obligation to quarantine or isolation imposed by the Director of Health (‘Directeur de la Santé’)[1], and who plans to carry on working remotely instead of making use of their incapacity for work certificate, should request written proof, in any format whatsoever, of their employer’s agreement.

It is specified that this option is only feasible if the employee is not ill and does not have any symptoms of being infected. In addition, this option to work remotely does not affect the need to respect the quarantine and isolation measures stipulated by the order issued by the Director of Health.
