In a press release issued on 20 July 2021, the Government announced that short-time working in the event of force majeure can temporarily apply, under certain conditions, to companies affected by the bad weather on 14 and 15 July 2021 and which:
- are experiencing economic difficulties, or
- are unable to continue their usual activity.
The businesses concerned are those which, as a result of the floods, have suffered the destruction of, or damage to, their production equipment, stock, operating and/or production premises.
Applications for short-time working can be submitted up to and including 31 July 2021 via the online assistant on the MyGuichet platform.
The prerequisites and practical procedures for submitting an application for short-time working in the event of force majeure due to flooding are available at Guichet.lu.
In particular, a company that uses short-time working in the event of force majeure undertakes not to make any redundancies for economic reasons.
