In a press release issued on 24 August 2021, the Government provided the following information about applications for short-time working for October 2021 following the floods in July 2021:
- If a company is still in a state of emergency, it can submit an application for short-time working via the normal platform for short-time working at Guichet.lu within the legal period from 1 to 12 September 2021. The application for short-time working due to “force majeure, flooding” will no longer be available.
- In order for the application to be eligible, explanations and photos proving the state of the damage in September must be sent to the office of the Comité de Conjoncture, via the email address firstname.lastname@example.org.
- Applications must also specify whether an insurance policy has been taken out to cover the lost working hours. If so, a copy of the policy should be included with the explanations and photos to be provided, to complete the application. As a reminder, the amounts allocated to the employer under an insurance policy from an insurance company for lost working hours are deducted from the subsidies granted by the Employment Fund. If such a policy exists, the applicant must include it with the application.
