Simplification of the administrative process involved in interacting with the Inspectorate of Labour and Mines

In a press release published on 21 February 2017, the Ministry of Labour, Employment and the Social and Solidarity Economy announced the possibility of businesses completing certain administrative processes electronically directly with the Inspection du travail et des mines (Inspectorate of Labour and Mines), via the secure MyGuichet platform.

This new option fits in with the government’s desire to simplify the day-to-day life of users thanks to new technology, and to encourage transparency in any interaction between the authorities and businesses.

The following processes, which are particularly common and regular, can now be completed by employers directly online:

  • sending student contracts for employing school pupils and students during school holidays;
  • notifications/applications/advance notice relating to extending the normal working period (overtime) or working on a Sunday;
  • sending prior notice for large building projects.

It should be pointed out that documents can be submitted electronically and applications can be monitored on the MyGuichet platform, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The platform is secure, data is transmitted instantly, and support is offered to avoid errors when filling in forms. Any supporting documents needed are specified and an online helpdesk is available during office hours to guide users. Once the process has been completed, the business can follow progress online.
